Overtaken Captive States edition by RWK Clark Literature Fiction eBooks

Aliens invading the Earth isn't a new idea but the way that author R.W.K. Clark has presented this in "Overtaken", by turning it into a tech thriller, definitely felt unique to me. The story of a mass alien invasion whose only chance of being thwarted seems to be two super geeks. Josh works as a programmer at the Pentagon and his girlfriend, Kamryn, is a hacker. These two begin working on this "alien problem" together and it's an exciting ride to say the least. Loved the spin that Clark put on this and I definitely was drawn into this story.

Overtaken Captive States edition by RWK Clark Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I thoroughly enjoyed this book "Overtaken". It was well written and the plot was well developed. It had suspense and the characters were relate-able. Kamryn and Josh were like persons in our everyday life. As usual RWK Clark captivated his readers by having a good story line, mystery and suspense. Love it!!
I'm always a bit wary to buy a novel over a couple dollars these days, but I've been struggling to find a book I've really enjoyed lately. After seeing the other positive reviews, I'm glad I decided to read this book! It was a really great science-fiction read and the alien invasion aspect of it was so different than many others I've read. It was very fast paced, and I loved watching Josh and Kamryn fight to save the world. Overall, brilliant concept and I really enjoyed it--only wish it were longer!
I like that the writer made the genius computer hacker a woman. Lots of women in romance stories are completely weak and they need a man to fix everything. Josh and Kamryn are a team, and that makes all the difference. I thought that the writer should have just used the normal spelling for 'Kamryn' because it took me a while to get used to the strange alternate spelling. However, I genuinely think that the book was well-written and that a lot of people would really like it, and that includes the people who have become completely disillusioned by this entire genre and everything that it usually has to offer. This book is like Alien a great female heroine and some really scary aliens that aren't going to just kiss and make up at all. I like it and I recommend it.
A fantastic book that captured my attention right from the beginning. The fast pace of the story was great and I didn't want to put it down. The book quickly escalates the situation which leads to the reader having to face the surrealism and shock of how fast this happens (what would you do in that situation? Do you go into hiding, do you risk trying find relatives? Do you push on in hopes that the human race will prevail, or do you just end it all now with a bullet to the head to avoid any extended death at the hands of the Oppressors?) Great writing Robert! I hope there will be another.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story because of the tension and suspense which was consistently built throughout the revealing of the plotline. The relationship between Josh and Alicia is very realistic, and the powerlessness they feel at their impending forced separation is tangible. Though they just met, the relationship which develops between them is simply the thing dreams are made of, and together they face the terror before them, not only as professionals, but as soul mates. The leader of the Oppressors, Superior, is the most vile of characters, and while he is easy to hate, his character has depth. It was also wonderful to have the men in charge of the United States, like the president and his cabinet members, as completely human, and at a loss as to how they will come out of the situation victoriously.
This is definitely a book which I would recommend to other readers, and have done so already. I myself plan on reading it again. It was excellent, and I give it five stars.
What if we were to find out we’re not alone in the universe? This is a great story about two geeks falling in love while dealing with an evil alien race. I like the character development, even the bad guys have a story and motives. They’re not cookie-cutter characters.

Using hacking to battle the aliens was an interesting plot line. The guy who compares it to Independence Day doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Will Smith is a terrible actor and his characters are always annoying. Kamryn, Josh, the President, these are real characters.

Furthermore, assuming that regular human weapons like AR-15’s are gonna work on aliens is ridiculous. Aliens obviously have a different body structure. As for Americans not bending over to an alien race, are you kidding? Americans bend over at the TSA line everyday. Like a bunch of slaves, they take off shoes, belts, and cooperate with everything the government demands.

So if the aliens do come, I hope we have hackers and others who can use their BRAINS to deal with unimaginable forces.
I’m a fan of alien novels, but I have to be honest when I say that Overtaken has a new take on the invasion concept, a couple of young adults saving the world with nothing more than hacking skills. Yes it is an original idea for sure. I personally would have liked to have more fighting or battle scenes. This is truly more of an intellectual alien novel, even the invaders are sorting out some humans through testing rather than annihilation. With that being said, it is a fresh concept. This would be a good book for a younger fan, or for women; it tends to lean toward the milder side of things.

This intriguing Si-Fi fantasy had my attention from the beginning. The story flows from scene to scene with ease, and the author shows exceptional skill when it comes to storytelling. There are twists and turns in this page turner that will take the reader on a fascinating journey!

It’s one of those stories that come along once in awhile that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader!

I’ll certainly be looking forward to reading more from RWK Clark in the future! I would definitely recommend this book!
