Deep Blue Secret 2nd Edition The Water Keepers Book 1 Christie Anderson Books
" My little body shuttered from the unexpected sound.""I pranced to the front door." No one walks in this book. If a character isn't prancing she's skipping, trotting, strolling, traipsing, scurrying, scampering, creeping, hopping or lurking. True, lurking means to wait but in this book it becomes a form of motion.
"Her lean physique approached my direction with purpose." This sentence speaks for itself.
"I slid from the fluffy sanctuary." Most of us refer to this as a bed.
Four paragraphs were devoted to her laying her towel on the beach sand. That was memorable, especially since it had
nothing to do with the story and was never mentioned again!
Thirteen pages were needed to describe the first few moments of meeting between Sadie and the strange boy! Most of it was her explaining how she immediately fell in love with him even though, they "barely knew each other." Barely? They knew each other about 2 minutes.
In all fairness, the book may have improved but I only made it through a third before giving up.

Deep Blue Secret 2nd Edition The Water Keepers Book 1 Christie Anderson Books Reviews
Honestly this review is way over due. I first read this book almost four years ago, and read it's first edition. I loved it! The characters are well developed, as is the plot, and is not overly sappy like most young adult/teen novels. It offers you not only the romance, but mystery and intrigue as well. I enjoyed it so much, that when the author was hunting for people to privately review a revised edition before publishing, I jumped at the chance. If I loved it before, it was even better after. She added some chapters to give you a more in-depth character background (which will help in the books to come), as well as made some slight changes to the main character, Sadie, to seem more mature. I really do encourage you to read this book. Compared to most other teen/ya novels out there, it is fresh and exciting and will leave you wanting more!
In the interest of full disclosure, I paid for my original copy, but when I volunteered to participate in the review of the second edition, I received a free copy from the author.
I thought this was a great story for any age reader. It was a clean read that was still exciting and keeps you flipping the pages. Sadie finds out things that are going to change her entire life as she has always known it. And talk about oblivious, how could no one ever notice a super, sexy guy, being around you and across the street for years. Guess he was exceptional at his job. Sadie was born with, i guess, a secret hiding in her body. She is about to become aware of it and a lot more in this story. I won't say more because i will be giving spoilers. Just read this and I think you will sucked into the story as well.
This book is a quick weekend read which is what I did while on Vacation. I enjoyed that it did read well. I didn’t have to restart sentences because they didn’t make sense to me. I have just read one that took way too much energy to read because of the dialect and etc. This would be a great teen read. Not sure how its rated but I believe my granddaughter would enjoy it. I’m pretty good about predicting what’s gonna happen and I didn’t get this one as quickly as others. I definitely recommend it.
This book takes readers into a new world. It is not the typical fantasy worlds that are so popular now with witches, vampires, or were wolves. Instead, this other world is beautiful but must be kept secret because this other world has magical water with healing powers. Our world and this other world, called Ambrosia, collided a little over a decade ago when a man from Ambrosia was sent to Earth for official business but he met and fell in love with a woman from earth and they had a child together. Eventually, the man thought the woman and his daughter would be better off without him and he went back to his world. The daugher's name is Sadie. Since Sadie has blood from both worlds, she needs the healing water to survive so Rayne is sent to earth from Ambrosia to look after Sadie. Rayne is supposed to not let Sadie know who he is, or how special she is, or that she needs the healing water to survive. However, their feelings for each other grow and Rayne tells Sadie the truth. There are also some bad guys in the book to keep things interesting. Actually, the book is interesting. The characters are well developed and draw you in. Even though is is a book geared toward teens, anyone can enjoy it. I am most definitely not a teen and I loved this book. I recommend this book for those looking for escape into another world, literally.
I enjoyed reading this book.. it was definitely different from other books. In that it's not your usual paranormal stor with vampires or werewolves etc.
This is something completely different and interesting , intriguing.
It's about the Water Keepers.. and Healing water. And I thought it was very well written and enjoyable. There's a lot of information that you get about Voss, Rayne, Ash and Hamlin. Although not everything comes out like why is Voss the way he is with his black eyes? Etc.
And the book ends without giving that information. However my suspicion on who Sadies father is was true..
So yeah, now I'm hooked to this series. Things just got a whole lot more interesting in the ending..
So if you're looking for something different to read , then you should grab these books. They're good.
I was proof reading this book for my daughter (for when she's old enough). This book was fun. I enjoyed using my imagination to create the world in my head along with actual memories of the area in California in which part of this world was placed. I wanted to continue reading even though I should have been sleeping.
I recommend this book and hope to read book 2 very soon. I want to find out what happens next.
I am happy that I didn't have to deal with swearing. I dislike reading books with swearing. I'm also happy that there were some life lessons in this book.
Reasons I enjoyed this book
Action-packed, Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Great world building, Happily Ever After, Page-turner, Romantic, scary parts, Tear-jerker, Tragic, Wonderful characters.
